American History Since 1877

Description

Survey of American history since 1877 including such topics as industrialization, political reform, experiences in war, social conflict, and changing conceptions of the meaning of democracy.


Refection:

After taking this class which was my first at Florida International University, I could honestly say that my knowledge of  American history was enhanced which includes more knowledge of the industrial era, which wars transpired during that era, and the democracy of our nation.

and I can also say that it has given me an understanding of what the "New Deal" was during the 1930's.

Intercultural/Interracial Communication

Description

This class is about the unique relationship between communication and culture. More specifically, it is about what happens when people from different cultures come together to share ideas and information. Verbal and nonverbal communication patterns of different cultures will be compared to appreciate the differences and similarities.

Reflection:

With this course, I was able to understand the different diversity of Communications.

Everyone communicates, and everyone has a culture, so that makes sense to understand how to communicate with those from different backgrounds with recognition and respect of cultural differences.

International Business Communication

Description:

This course will provide students with the theoretical and experiential framework for examining the meaning of communication in global business.


Reflection:

This course was amazing and goes well with the business aspects of my career.

i was able to learn how to successfully communicate with those from various backgrounds, and the ethics of international business communication.

Introduction to Sociology

Description:

Introduces sociological perspectives and methods, and the sociological study of issues such as socialization, gender, race/ethnicity, social class, and global inequality.


Reflection:

With this course, it was really interesting, because I was able to understand how society works, and different type of norms from politics through religious.

I was fascinating by how we as human interact with one another, and the issues that we are facing on a global affair.
