Reflection of the global learning experience

The global learning experience did not only help build my career, but it also enabled me to interact with individuals from different backgrounds.  The learning experience enabled me to become open-minded.  Studying abroad developed me into a better person, and in my career, as I came back with new perspectives, the passion for learning, skills that will significantly shape my career path and friends’ contacts who had the same vision as me.  The learning experience enabled me to acquire more insights from learners who shared their lived experiences.  I also built tremendous relationships with local faculty, which enabled me to see life and persuasion of education from a different perspective.  The global learning experience also exposed me to better ways of thinking which motivated me to travel back again given an opportunity.  Interaction with the faculty members and students also enabled me to adapt to changes quickly by becoming adaptable in unfamiliar places.

The global learning experience enabled me to participate in research and internship learning that was instrumental in developing my career.  It also made me more culturally aware by comprehending cultural diversity that I learned by communicating and interacting with diverse groups.  Global learning plays a critical role in creating global awareness and intercultural appreciation.  It shaped our skills globally and made us aware of other diversified cultures that were more unique than our culture.  It also enabled us to understand the relationship between our country and the rest of the world.  The experiences instilled cultural knowledge that is fundamental for success after graduation.  The learning experience played a critical role in preparing us for a diversified multicultural society.  It was primarily based on equality, diversity and inclusion that fostered a comprehensive understanding of diverse human experiences globally.  The learning experience also instilled an appreciation of contemporary issues and the complex past shaping the lives of other individuals in different countries.  The learning also enabled me to comprehend multiple contexts such as culture, ethnicity, race, socioeconomic and religious differences that played a critical role in shaping the construction of human differences in the world.  It also enabled me to explore the construction of human differences linked to histories and experiences of injustices in our country and the global contexts.  The learning experience also offered sustained knowledge into social and cultural practices practiced by other states in the world.  It enabled me to appreciate all other diversified cultures just like my own.

It also led to the development of self-awareness that will shape my career path and life in general.  I did not only build a global professional and social network, but I was able to clarify my own goals and interests throughout the global learning experience.  The learning experience became a journey of self-discovery and a changing life experience.  It made me more confident, bold, independent, and eager to take on new life challenges, whether in my education, career, or personal life.  Generally, studying broad enabled me to understand my strengths and weaknesses better.  It has encouraged proficiency that I acquired through studying literature and language abroad and on campus.  The global learning experience empowered us with the insightful theoretical framework and intellectual tools that will enable us to critically reflect on our participation and action in an interconnected and diverse world.  It also enabled me to build resilience that will be essential when facing any challenge that might come my way.
